Awarded Best In Show At Mobile

HTC One Awarded Best In Show At Mobile World Congress.

The HTC One is a fine piece of hardware. Full disclosure, my last three phones have been EVO variants. I have been called an HTC fan more than once. Never have I felt so unbiased about my early assessment of a phone as this one. This time around HTC may have made one of the better smartphones, and certainly the best in their portfolio, and that's no small accomplishment. The critics who have gotten their hands on the handset have all marveled at it's beauty. Now I hear it compared less and less to other phones as when we first saw pictures of it, and I take it that is because the phone is so striking in person and the quality has set a new standard in terms of build, materials, display, camera, and processor. The GSMA andTechCrunch have decided that the HTC One is the best technology showed off at this years Mobile World Congress.

The HTC One was unveiled at its own event just before Mobile World Congress and came to a show that had few stand out devices. It beat out the five inch Sony Xperia Z, which has also received a significant amount of attention and praise. Sony did not go without some accolades of their own as they took home the award for best tablet at the show with their Sony Xperia Tablet Z (not to be confused with the aforementioned phone).

The One packs some fabulous tech including one of the largest camera sensors ever with brand new "Ultra Pixel" technology, and a 4.7 inch Gorilla Glass 3-covered 1080 SuperLCD 3 display. It will also be the first phone to launch with the Snapdragon 600 SoC, which has brought some record breaking benchmark scores.

This years Mobile World Congress was one of the biggest ever with 72,000 attendees from over 200 countries. 1700 different companies were present this year to showcase their wares. The reward does prove this, that HTC has one incredible device on their hands. what remains to be seen is if it can turn the firm's fortunes around.

I'll be reviewing the device as soon as it comes available so stay tuned for more on the award winning HTC One. Check out the source link for a full list of this years winners. Press release below:
